Known in Japan as Magma Taishi or
Ambassador Magma, The Space
Giants is a favorite among American
fans of the Japanese SF genre.
"Goldarr a fifty foot robot and
his electronic space family are created
to defend our world!" is the battle cry
that many a young viewer (and Adult)
tuned into daily so they could follow
the adventures of Goldarr, his son,
Gam, and Silvarr his wife, all with the
amazing ability to change into rockets
and speed to the aid of reporter
Tom (Ito) Mura, a reporter for the
National Press International, and
his son Mikko, whom Gam was
made in the image of.
On these pages, we present for your
enjoyment, just some of the
Ambassador Magma/Magma
Taishi Imported toys often sold by
dealers in the USA as The Space
Giants, although there has been no
Space Giants items made or
released in America except for the
VHS, DVDs, T-Shirts and comic books
done by Powerslam Productions
since 1979, when they produced the
1st of several comic adaptations.
We've even included the Monster
Times article that ran in 1972, and
the newspaper articles about
Powerslam(known then as FBN)
and the acquisition of rights.
Special thanks to our Hong Kong friend,
Superman fan #1, Billy Tang, who's help has
added many excellent pieces to the
Powerslam Magma Taishi collection.
