How do I get a FREE 11 DVD or VHS set?
Due to repeated TM violations of the Ebay venue and pending legal action to determine validity
of a 25 year old agreement,
Powerslam will not be listing remaining stock of Space Giants
on Ebay until a court  decides the validity of the agreement made in 1978 between Bernard
Schulman of Lakeside TV Company Inc. & FBN (Now
Powerslam) TM claimant  and 1979
copyright holder. We now give them away, with purchases of other products, including the 1979
signed comic. Free except for insurance, when you buy the vintage comic signed edition.
If you desire to own a library of
Space Giants restored episodes, they are still available as
Free Bonus sets,  on high quality DVD or VHS, while  remaining supplies last.  All DVDs & VHS
are 5 episodes each (except volume #11 with final 2 episodes and bonus first 2
Johnny
Sokko
episodes.) and are recorded in SP mode for highest quality. They are NOT condensed,
like most of the 3 DVD sets offered on line. Restored episodes have English chapter titles and
re-edited opening sequence with new title logo not blurry image, (not copy off TV). Dialogue in
English with restored footage in Japanese. Set is free with vintage comics.
Powerslam pays shipping for your  purchase, with delivery confirmation, for your tracking
convenience. Insurance is extra and by request  of buyer only.
Several services offer a secure on line means to pay, and also offer "Buyer Protection" options
so you may purchase a
Signed Space Giants comic and receive your DVDS or VHS safely
and with confidence.

They're Not Public Domain???
A 1997 letter from Osamu Tezuka
Studios, Japan, to
POWERSLAM
(on File) also mentions ONLY
ownership of the Japanese version,
MagmaTaishi/Ambassador
Magma
, declaring they have NO
PLANS for release of footage of
Ambassador Magma.
"The producers rights to the
Ambassador Magma series
have expired and presently they
cannot use it without permission of
the original author and Tezuka
Prod. does not grant permission,
So it is available neither for
broadcast or video distribution.
This is our FINAL decision"-Tezuka
Production Company Ltd.
July 31st,1997
A cartoon anime version of
"Magma Tasahi" was released in
1992, with a re-designed and more
colorful
Ambassador Magma &
Family. No longer was he a solid gold
giant, nor was Silvar her silver
hue. The series was distributed in
America, Canada & Britain by
Manga Entertainment. It was
released as
"Ambassador
Magma"
for the US market, not
Space Giants, ignoring all
earlier names and storyline, as
copyrighted in the 1979 comic.
Even referring to the character of
Rodak as "Goa" and Mathusala
as "Earth" like in the original
1966 comic and Japanese
Maguma Taishi TV show,
although the original names as
appearing in the credits of the
show(including
Earth)
are actually part of our
TM  being unchanged in the
original show closing credits!
Powerslam Productions,
(formerly FBN publications) or it's
authorized agents make no claim
MagumaTaishi/Ambasador
Magma
footage produced in
Japan after 1992 have no claim on
storyline/material titled
Ambassador Magma, and
Original 1966
Maguma
Taishi/Ambassador Magma
characters licensed through
Tezuka studios 1966-1970, our
claim is the Trademark and
Copyright on characters, storyline
and likenesses of
The Space
Giants
as announced in the
1972 edition of
Monster Times
#9: "Meet The Space Giants"
,
and 1979 FBN comic based on
series released on U.S. TV by
Lakeside TV Company Inc., with
1979 Copyright and Trademark
including photo images and
likenesses contained therein. A
promo comic was distributed in
1981 & 1988 and another USA
comic was published 1993 by
Boneyard Press.
In 1997, LK Management  of CA.
licensed the TM, soliciting 6 issues
through Diamond International,
several hundred promo comics  were
distributed, one  being reviewed in
The Buyers Guide For Comic
Fandom, among other places.
Imported toys from the Japanese
market have been wrongly listed
as
The Space Giants, but
in reality  the original packaging on
these imported toys does not
mention
The Space Giants.
Thanx-
Powerslam Productions
NO, that's a misconception.
Currently, the TM is supposedly in
"dispute", with  claims of Bernard
Schulman resurfacing after over 20
years and denying he made a deal
In 1978, for merchandising rights,
resulting with our being temporarily
suspended from ebay, while the
non-fan responsible,  who was
caught selling incomplete product,
went to obsessive lengths to cover
himself, so he could spend his
days boasting of how he "shut
Powerslam down" on  Internet
"fan" forums, and painting us to be
the villian for attempting to protect
the TM.  The question remains,
where's Lakeside TV been while
bootlegging ran rampant?
To date, we have received no legal
paperwork, to back up these
rants, and choose to let the courts
decide if Mr.Schulman's deal is no
longer valid.   We are willing to
abide by the court's judgement.
The trademark use has been steady,
by
Powerslam, since 1979.
We may not be the largest
company in America, but we are
serious about our product, and
although we have absolutley no
claim to the original
"Magma
Taishi"
storyline. (Quite different
and much darker than the USA
Space Giants story.) and
names (the Japanese versions of
the characters in our
Space
Giants
series) we do have claim
on the likeness' and images, as
represented by photos and
graphics in
The Space Giants
TV show and the comics published
in 1979,1981,1988 & 1994.
We have been actively producing
comics, videos and T-shirts,
distributed worldwide, in one form
or another since 1979, when our
first copyright for
The Space
Giants
was filed acknowledging
the license with Lakeside TV
Company Inc., which runs for
perpetuity, a full 2 years before
another copyright was filed in
1981. (almost as an afterthought,
claiming the series was created in
1977, although the 1972
Monster
Times #9 "Meet The Space
Giants"
2 pg article challenges
that creation date. The same
article also appeared in
The
Monster Times Presents
Star Trek Lives #1
1973)
Since existing 16mm prints from
when the show was released in 1977,
did not carry the proper copyright
notice as required by law, it was
protected then by the TM use, and
still only protected by our continual
use of the TM.  It seems despite
documentation of same, if recent
claims are true, Mr.Schulman has
forgotten this, and also that there
were no lawyers involved when we
came to terms! The comic was
produced in 78-79, and actually
published 5/18/79, a month before
the original 6/18/79 copyright
was filed under the new 1978
copyright law, and is still valid, thus
we are protected under US
copyright and trademark laws.
Over the past 25 years our
products have been recognized by
The Comics Journal, The
Buyers Guide For Comic
Fandom, Big Bang, Image
Comics, Diamond Dist.,
Boneyard Press
, & others

Since 1979 Gabriele has promoted the

Updated
MAR 2008
   A Note from Powerslam Productions:
Powerslam wants to CLARIFY that we at NO TIME wish to disrespect or
diminish the accomplishments of
Lakeside TV Inc, the original distributor
of
The Space Giants TV show in the USA.
In 1978, when we negotiated merchandising rights from
Bernard
Schulman
, then president of Lakeside TV Inc., it was understood that
Lakeside TV Inc. maintained TV rights to the series,  we produced the
original 48 page comic, in return for rights excluding TV.
We were NOT HIRED by
Lakeside TV Inc, nor were we PAID to produce the
comic, and are secure in the fact that there is ABSOLUTELY no records or
documents proving otherwise. Our small company  respectfully abides by
that agreement, and has done so PUBLICLY, for over 25 years, even
though, we inadvertently lost contact with
Lakeside TV Inc in the mid
1980's.   Despite numerous failed efforts to locate them over the past
decade, this did not effect OUR agreement, the filed copyright, or the TM,
THE Space Giants.
In 2003, it was brought to our attention that DOZENS of different entities,
were selling
Space Giants DVDS & VHS on Ebay and other venues.  We
have documented and kept on file HUNDREDS of various transactions on
Ebay alone ( not including Comic & Pop Culture conventions, and other
sites, ALL ON FILE)  claiming it was public domain, which is very much
wrong.  We again tried to locate
Lakeside TV Inc., to no avail.
Since we worked so hard to promote
The Space Giants TM over the past
few decades, we took steps to protect our work and  the TM and opened
this site in 2004 so fans could  have a place to go to for more info on the
characters they love so much, while presenting a fun venue and tribute to
the classic
Magma Taishi series created in Japan by the late great  Osamu
Tezuka,
famous also for Astro Boy , Devil  Garon & others
The funds from our limited  DVDS sales help maintain this site for all to
enjoy.  We offer our DVDS at affordable prices in an effort to discourage the
"Public Domain" bootleggers who try to make us out as some crooks who
stole this from
Lakeside TV Inc, instead of a copyright holder who protects
it from public domain and renegade bootleggers.  We brought our prints
into the studio and recreated the logo, opening & closing sequence and
chapter title cards, creating a new product for home distribution.
In closing,  although we continue to get hate mail from bootleggers and
people claiming to be
Lakeside TV Inc., (among others),  calling us names
and trying to make us villains,  until we are contacted proper,  we will
continue to fight to protect  the TM we have publicly  traded on for over 25
years, and again give props and respect  to
Bernard Schulman and
Lakeside TV Inc., for bringing this classic to the USA, and to Osamu
Tezuka
and his creation Magma Taishi, without which there would be no
Space Giants for us to enjoy.
