Here's the page from Gabriele's 1979 Space Giants comic that
Gabriele re-worked for the image on the suit's front. Mikko was moved
from the Porch and placed in the Space Avenger's hand. The copy was
edited down for an easier read.

The 1979 comic, 1979 T-shirt
(color version of the comic's back
cover) and 1980 Collegeville
costume, are early and rare
examples of actual U S Produced
"Space Giants" merchandise, not
recycled imports from Osamu
Tesuka's Magma Taishi.

Two examples of vintage 1960 Ambassador Magma Masks.
Each has a different "Gold" color and approach to the hair & antenna.
When Gabriele designed his "Space Giants Goldar" mask, he
wanted it to have a distinctive look so as to separate it from the
Magma Taishi Image originated in the Osamu Tezuka comic series,
and seen in these examples.
